Your own league
A friends league is a normal league with league and cup, just among yourselves. Here is how to create it, how your mates join and how the days run.
Three tips
- 1Create it before 19:30 and the first matchday is tonight.
- 2Send the invite link to your group chat. Whoever joins takes over an AI club and plays from the next matchday.
- 3With Pro your league gets its own rules: Your own kick-off time between 17:00 and 22:30, your own league logo and cup name.
One day is one game week
In Derbymates time runs in real time. One calendar day is one game week: every day there is training, every day wages are paid, and almost every evening is matchday. A season lasts 35 days, so 5 weeks.
All times are in the league's time zone.
The daily rhythm

| 18:00 | Cup | Cup days only (7, 14, 21, 28, 35): one knockout round. |
| 20:00 | Kick-off | League matchday on days 1 to 34, every match of the league at once. |
League
18 clubs play a double round robin with 34 matchdays. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1 point. The table is sorted by points, then goal difference, then goals scored, then name.
Cup
- All 18 clubs of the league play the league cup at 18:00: day 7: Qualifying round, day 14: Round of 16, day 21: Quarter-final, day 28: Semi-final, day 35: Final.
- In the qualifying round the clubs that finished 15th to 18th last season (by lot in the first season) play for the last two places in the round of 16.
- The draw happens straight after each round. The first club drawn plays at home; the club with the bigger stadium hosts the final.
- Knockout: extra time on a draw, then a shoot-out with 5 takers each, then sudden death.
- Every round played pays prize and TV money, the winner gets an extra prize. Gate receipts are shared half and half.
Friendlies
Friendlies are possible at any time except between 19:45 and 20:30. They are simulated instantly and can be watched as a replay. Any club of your league can be the opponent, up to 5 matches a day. They do not affect the table, finances, fitness or injuries.
